It was early in 2007. My number one team rider Kenny was flying Hawaii to San Diego. He met a young surfer on board and when the conversation turned to surfboards, Kenny pulled out his laptop and showed him shots of his quiver. The youngster was complimentary and upon returning home he sent Kenny this picture of his quiver. Kenny forwarded it to me and as soon as I saw it I thought, thats my kind of quiver, I like this kid.
I saved the shot in my picture file and occasionally it would pop up in my screen saver rotation.
About a year after obtaining the quiver shot I noticed it on a site while looking at surfing blogs and such. I checked it out further and sadly this is what I found:

Big Worm
Worm (Matt Joyce) was our rep for Joel Tudor Surfboards. Worm was a super nice guy and a great surfer. Last month Worm passed away after a long battle with Cystic Fibrosis. This morning my mom sent me a link to an article in the San Diego Union-Tribune titled, "Dozens Stage Ride to Honor Memory of Friend."
